MAIN ACTIONS OF THE GREEK STUDENT’S MOVEMENT • 1862: STUDENTS LEAD A REVOLUTION WHICH RESULTED TO THE EXPEL OF THE FIRST KING OF THE NEW GREEKS, OTHON FROM THE COUNTRY. • 1901&1903: VIOLENT CONFLICTS BETWEEN CONSERVATIVES AND PROGRESSIVES DUE TO “THE LANGUAGE PROBLEM”. LEADING THE ROLE OF THE STUDENTS.

  6. 1912-1913: ACTIVE ROLE IN THE BALCAN WARS. • 1910 ONWARDS: FOUNDATION OF DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS BY STUDENTS AND INTELLECTUALS. • 1936: THE FIRST PAN- HELLENIC STUDENT’S CONFERENCE TAKES PLACE IN ATHENS. 300 ORGANIZATIONS AND CORPORATIONS TAKE PART.

  7. 1941-1944: DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR MANY ORGANIZATIONS ARE BEING FOUNDED WHICH ARE BEING DIRECTED AND GUIDED BY IDEOLOGICAL- POLITICAL PARTIES AND STUDENTS TAKE ACTION IN THE WAR THROUGH THEM. • 1944 ONWARDS: MANY STUDENT’S ASSOCIATIONS ARE BEING FOUNDED.

  8. 1963: ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NATIONAL CONFEDERATION OF GREEK STUDENTS- EFEE. • 1965-1967: THE YOUTH POLITICAL PARTIES CONFLICT WITH THE PARTIES THEY BELONG TO.

  9. 1967-1974: DICTATORSHIP IN GREECE. 279 ASSOCIATIONS, ORGANIZATIONS AND ANY OTHER STUDENT CORPORATION, ARE BEING BANNED. THE STUDENTS PARTICIPATE FROM THE BEGINNING AND TILL THE END IN A DYNAMIC AND PIONEERING WAY IN THE ANTIDICTATORIAL FIGHT .

  13. 1974: AFTER THE RESTORATION OF THE DEMOCRACY, THE EXISTENCE AND THE FUNCTION OF THE STUDENT’S UNIONS IS BEING PROTECTED THROUGH THE FUNDAMENTAL LAW OF THE STATE (1975). • 1982: VOTING OF A LAW FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE BODIES OF THE UNIVERSITIES

  14. 1970-1980: A TENDENCY FROM THE POLITICAL PARTIES TO ATTRACT THE SUPPORT OF THE STUDENTS AND GUIDE THE STUDENT PARTIES ACCORDING TO THEIR DESIRES AND POLICIES. THIS LED TO A HIGH- TENSED SITUATION BETWEEN THE STUDENT PARTIES- A SITUATION THAT STILL EXISTS.
