Intermediate Years Key Experience Trip

Join us for an unforgettable experience at the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI). From snorkeling and ocean kayaking to ecology hikes and squid dissections, we have a packed schedule. Ensure you are prepared by following our packing list and completing required paperwork regarding medications and dietary needs. Departure is set for Monday, February 17, with a return on Wednesday, February 19. We’ll have exciting evening programs, team-building activities, and plenty of free recreation time. A Typical Day at Fox Landing 7:00am - Rise and Shine 7:30am - Breakfast 8:00am - Free Time 9:00am - Morning Program 12:30pm - Lunch 1:00pm - Recreation Time 1:30 / 2:00pm - Afternoon Program 5:30 / 6:00pm - Dinner 7:00 / 7:30pm - Evening Program 9:00 / 9:30pm - Quiet Hours* (one to two chaperones per cabin) *Quiet hours are approximately 9:00PM to 7:00AM for all participants. Our program is energy intensive; everybody will need and want their sleep.

Day of Departure • Monday, February 17 • Arrive at UPS no later than 5:30am • What to bring? • 1) Suitcase or duffel bag (see packing list) • 2) Warm Sleeping Bag and Pillow* *Optional – fitted twin sheet • 4) Day Pack (small backpack) • 5) Lunch • Saltine crackers for boat ride • Please do not bring additional snacks

  6. Spending Money? • No spending money is necessary • Optional: Snacks and drinks on the boat (cash only) • Optional Store Items at CIMI (checks to CIMI or cash): • Postcards: $1.00 (includes postage) • CIMI Hooded Sweatshirts: $30 • CIMI Short sleeve T- Shirts: $15 • CIMI Baseball Hats: $12 • CIMI Beanies: $12 • CIMI water bottles: $9

  7. Day of Return • Wednesday, February 19 • Boat will arrive in Long Beach between 2:30pm and 3:30pm • We will arrive at UPS between 5:00pm and 6:00pm • Please check our website for timing updates! • We will post updates beginning at approximately 4:00pm. http://universitycharterschools.csuci.edu

  8. Chaperones • Please read and complete a Release Form (Required) tonight. Thank you! • Role of Chaperones: • Be an active participant in all activities (including hiking and snorkeling) • Supervise students during meals • Supervise students in cabins • Supervise recreational activities during free time • Help to supervise students during classes
