  1. Welcome Back Welcome Back As a part of your Swank K-12 Streaming renewal and/or return to school, there are a few items needing your attention to ensure streaming remains a successful asset for your teachers. This page will walk you through updates you can make as an administrator and the following four pages may be passed along to your teachers to ensure they are familiar with the platform. Let’s get started! Let’s get started! On the page titled “Welcome to Swank K-12 Streaming,” add the designated administrator primary contact for your school/district. Make sure that this contact is also the designated recipient of Title Request Email Notifications within your streaming platform (if different from last year). Step 1 Set up your new teacher passcode. This passcode will allow your teachers who have not previously set up streaming accounts in the Swank K-12 Streaming platform to create accounts. Step 2 The previous passcode you provided teachers will expire after a 9 month period and therefore it may be necessary to update to ensure no disruption this school year. As an admin, please follow these steps: : 1. Login to the streaming portal with your admin credentials 2. From the menu on the left-hand side, select “Authentication” 3. From the section titled “Instructor Self Registration,” click “Create New Registration Code” 4. Your new registration code date will default to the farthest out allowed by our systems 5. Toggle the “Unlimited Uses” switch 6. Click “Create” 7. Copy the new registration code to share with teachers 8. On the page titled “Setting Up Your K-12 Streaming Account” within the attached packet, paste the registration code on Step 2 On the page titled “Welcome to Swank K-12 Streaming,” add the streaming portal URL for your teachers to easily access movies. Note: This is the same site URL used each year, but it can also be copied from the “Instructor Self Registration” section in the “Authentication” tab Step 3 On the page titled “Assigning Movies to Students,” add your existing student username and password. Student credentials can be managed on the “Users” tab within your Admin portal. Step 4 • To update the password on an existing student account, select “Edit Profile and Password” in the dropdown menu next to the username. Send the following “Welcome to Swank K-12 Streaming” Packet to your teachers to ensure everyone is familiar with using the Swank K-12 Streaming platform. Step 5

  3. Setting up Your K-12 Streaming Account: Step 1 Click on the URL provided on the previous page. Enter the following passcode when prompted: This passcode is unique for teachers at your school and should not be shared with others. Step 2 Create your account profile, including name, school email address, username and password. Please use your school/district provided email address as your login is based on your district email domain. If you are getting an invalid email error when setting up your account, either you are not using your district email or not all district emails have been allowed for in your streaming platform. If you think you are receiving this message in error, please contact the individual who provided you with this document to update your portal’s email domains. Step 3 Verify your email address by clicking the verification link found in your inbox. If this email is not in your inbox after setting up your account, please check your spam or junk folder Step 4 Once verified you should be immediately taken to the Swank K-12 Streaming library of films. If you are not immediately taken to the Swank streaming library, click on the URL provided and you should be able to log in. Step 5

  4. Assigning Movies to Students: Learn how to assign and enable films to students for viewing outside of class. Student Username: Student Password: Step 1 Identify the movie you want to assign to students. Ensure the movie is already available in your streaming library for viewing. When clicking a movie, if you see “Watch” and “Share” buttons, the film is available. If you see a “Request” button, you will need to request access and wait for approval from your Swank Administrator prior to assigning the film. Step 2 Click “Share” on the movie page and select either the Direct Link or the LMS link. Direct Link: Direct Links are the full URL to the film, which enable access via any sharing option, such as email, course syllabus, and Learning Management Systems. LMS Link: LMS Links are intended to be placed in Learning Management Systems that accept HTML, such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle and many others. Please note: Google Classroom and Schoology do not accept LMS links. If ever there is a question about which link to use, we recommend the Direct Link to ensure playback. The website URL or any page URLs in the streaming platform shouldnever be shared with students. They will receive an error message. Please only use either the Direct or LMSlinks when enabling student access to movies. Step 3 Paste the link into whatever platform you intend to share with students and include the generic student username and password listed above for their log in. Teacher logininformationshouldneverbesharedwithstudentsas youhavedifferent permissions than theydo. Step 4
