  2. PPC has been manufacturing mechanical seals since 1958. Our founder was an entrepreneur, an engineer at John Crane who saw an opportunity to repair and upgrade Crane seals, eventually developing proprietary seal lines. Over the course of 53 years we have developed a complete line of mechanical seals with metal bellows manufacturing being a key component. Decades ago we developed a cryogenic seal line and in 2010 we set the bar even higher with our new cryogenic face technology.

  6. The uniqueness of PPC’s cryogenic seals is the sealing faces. PPC has manufactured cryogenic seals for over 30 years and like all other companies struggled with finding a face combination that will handle the multiple conditions in the pumps: wet, dry and phasing. Until now customers had to guess at which face combination would work best for them. PPC has combined a custom polymer face with a specially treated tungsten carbide to achieve significantly higher life than our competition’s seals.
