Critical Areas • Management • Liaison Project/Alcatel/Astrium/Instrument Team still not clear and with a lot of friction • Set-up, duration and costs of cryo vibration at CSL not clear  User meeting urgently needed • Liaison with IAC/CRISA extremely difficult (not enough personnel?) • Monthly reporting still problematic • PA/QA activities not yet up to speed • Schedule: AVM/CQM tests can only start in April 2003 Delivery only beginning of December 2003 Management

Critical Areas (II) • Funding • MPE: • MoU signed by all parties, except OAMP Marseille: DLR blocked funding for KT in 2002  solution in progress • Max-Planck-Gesellschaft has funding problems due to new institutes in the new countries: Financing of test cryostat + test optics not possible  Need DLR support (out of our reserves) • Manufacture of FPU structure more expensive than expected  Need DLR support • IFSI: • Costs of MIL quality QM parts: 460 kEuro, not foreseen in budget: Participation to meetings drasticly reduced  ? • CEA: • Costs of parts much higher than expected: No reserves anymore  ? Management

  8. Critical Areas (III) • Spacecraft Interfaces still not frozen • Thermal Model • Straylight • Cryo harness • Straps (2 K support structures) • Alignment • SVM  Very risky situation, as we have completed our design and started manufacturing Management
