  4. STEP 1 We completely tear down the pump. All internal components; shafts, bearings, gears, spacers, seals, etc. are removed and replaced with new components.

  5. STEP 2 We machine body and cover to standard oversized dimensions; +.020, .040, .060, .080.

  6. STEP 3 Body and Cover are polished back to their original 32 RA finish.

  7. STEP 4 We machine new oversized rotors to bring back tolerances to match new pump performance/efficiency.

  8. STEP 5 Pumps are assembled to the same factory specified tolerances of a new pump. Pumps are assembled less seals/elastomers until Customer specifies option.

  9. STEP 6 Pumps are 100% water-tested before shipment to assure flow requirements are met, as well as seal leakage. All pumps carry a 1 year warranty; same warranty as a new Ampco pump.

FrequentlyAskedQuestions • Q: What kind of performance can I expect with my Ampco Remanufactured pump? • A: The Ampco Remanufactured Premium Economy (PE) pumps are tested to meet the performance of a new pump. The clearances are brought back to "as new" tolerances, allowing the pump to operate at maximum efficiency. • Q: Does my Remanufactured pump come with a warranty? • A: Yes. For a period of one year after shipment, replacement part(s) are covered under the warranty. The PE pumps offer the same warranty of a new Ampco pump. • Q: What kind of price savings does a remanufactured pump bring over a new pump? • A: Ampco PE remanufactured pumps cost 25% less than a comparable new pump. By reusing the body, cover and gear case, material costs are greatly reduced. • Q: I see quite a few websites with used positive displacement pumps, similar to your remanufactured pump. Why should I buy an Ampco PE remanufactured pump? • A: The pumps being offered through other website outlets are exactly what they claim, “used pumps”. The shops re-use the existing parts and the pumps are serviced just enough to make them functional. Ampco PE pumps are tested to ensure that standards of a new pump are met. The pump is protected with an Ampco warranty and reputation of superior quality and service. • Q: Does the Ampco PE remanufactured pump look used? • A: Other than the pump being white, there is no difference between a remanufactured pump and a new pump; cosmetically or functionally. The body, cover and gear case are machined and polished back to new specifications, and all other components are brand new. • Q: Can I make minor changes to the stock pumps? • A: We can change out the connections to what you need; shaft position, or even a special clearance rotor. Some of these changes will result in an extra charge.
