  3. Let’s apply what we learned…… Directions: Click on the blue link and read the story “A Friendly Field Trip”, then be ready to answer the questions in QAR format. click

  8. You can always try again! If you chose “On My Own” then you are correct. “On My Own” questions can be answered using your background knowledge on a topic. This type of question does not usually appear on tests of reading comprehension because it does not require you to refer to the passage…..you can answer the question ON YOUR OWN!!!!   9. “Right There” If you chose “Right There” as a strategy to answer this question than you are correct!!!! Did you know? “Right There” questions require you to go back to the passage and find the correct information to answer the question. Did you chose “Author and You” to help you answer this question? “Author and You” questions require you to use ideas and information that is not stated directly in the passage to answer the question. Teacher Tips for using this Power Point Answers to each question • 1- On your own • 2- Author and you • 3-Right There • 4-Think and Search When listening or reading the story, click on the microphone mutton for each part of the play. I did not use all of the questions at the end of the play for this activity, but did go over the Questions Answer Relationship (QAR) with students, then went on with the power point. Classroom Management- I split students up into two groups because they love to complete against one another…..that is the reason for the points for each question. This is the last slide.
