  3. Carry-Eze • Working with product designers, developed a small leather case with pockets designed to hold the devices and accessories that executives regularly carry. They show models to prospective customers and, based on feedback, make changes and improvements. • Product/Service Planning

  4. Carry-Eze • While the product is being produced, marketers decide on a name, packaging, and how it will be distributed. • Promotion • Distribution

  5. Carry-Eze • They identify and purchase the supplies, materials and services needed to complete marketing activities. • Purchasing

  6. Carry-Eze • They work with their financial people to develop budgets and line up cash to pay for marketing activities until products are sold. • Financing

  8. Carry-Eze • Product security is always a concern, so security procedures are developed and insurance policies are reviewed to minimize their risk. • Risk Management

  9. Carry-Eze • They rely on a great deal of information to make marketing decisions and manage marketing activities. That information is gathered, updated regularly, and maintained in its computer system, so it is available when needed. • Marketing Information Management

Group Activity • Work in groups of three • Come up with an idea for a new candy bar • In your Marketing Functions Word document, type a paragraph describing your candy bar • Include a name for your candy bar, and at least three different ingredients • Type in the name of the other people in your group • Below the description of your candy bar, type in the eight Marketing Functions • Next to each function, type in ways your candy bar company would perform each Marketing Function • Use the CarryEze examples to get ideas, but do not copy them

  12. Class Work • Total of 10 points • 4 points for the CarryEze Marketing Function examples • 2 points for the candy bar description • 4 points for the candy bar Marketing Function examples • Each person must complete a Word document and e-mail it to me
