I've included more specific tips below on the different types of activities. I'm specifically focusing on snorkeling, swimming, and diving. Still, most of this applies to all areas around and in water, whether kayaking, surfing, boating, paddleboarding, enjoying a relaxing waterfall, or walking through a massive downpour.
