Understanding Student Assessment: MAPS and NYS Exams Overview

This document explains key student assessments including MAPS and School-Wide Assessments (SWA) that track student growth throughout the school year. Students take MAPS three times a year to measure growth, while SWAs occur twice yearly to provide insights into each student's progress. Additionally, it highlights the importance of NYS Exams for 5th graders, including the specific dates for ELA and MATH assessments. Understanding these evaluations helps teachers gauge student proficiency and impacts overall school performance evaluations.
