  2. WHO CAN SET DEFAULT APPS ON IPHONE & IPAD? First, in order to set default apps, you to be running iOS or later. Not all devices support iOS, but if you have one that is less than five years old, you shouldn’t have any problems. You can check what software you are currently using by opening the Settings app and then tapping General > About > Version. If you are not using iOS 14 or later, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update to grab the latest software.
