  3. We have 25 clubs! WHICH ONE WILL YOU JOIN? (You might want to take notes.)

  4. Purpose: To provide recognition of artistic talents and leadership roles, while participating in art related school activities as well as community outreach • Eligibility: Outstanding students, who have completed a minimum of Visual Arts Comp 1 and had an A average in art courses are welcome to join NAHS • Dues: $40 for new members, $30 for returning members; includes t-shirt • Meeting Time/Day: Every Thursday 3:45 – 5:30 • Meeting Place: Room A 1.300 (Mrs. Houlihan’s room) • Sponsors: Mrs. Houlihan and Mrs. Lavin

  5. Beta Club • Purpose: The NMHS Beta Club actively participates in community service, community projects, and unique events locallyandwithin the school. • Eligibility: 3.0 GPA • Dues:$25 for new members, $15.00 for existing members; includes t-shirt • Meeting Time/Day: 2nd Wednesday of each month;8-8:20 • Meeting Place: D2106 • Applications on NMHS BETA website or outside of C1207 & D2106. Applications due September 27. • Sponsors: Bree Heaton, Kitty Rigdon

  6. DECA • Purpose: To develop future leaders in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. • Dues: $30 • Meeting Time/Day: advisement club days, other morning meetings TBA • Meeting Place: A2303 • Sponsor: Mrs. Gilchrist *First meeting September 7 at 8 am.

  7. Drama Club • Purpose: To give students who are interested in theatre an outlet to perform and create both onstage and off. • Eligibility: Anyone may join. • Dues: $40 due by end of September • Meeting Time/Day: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, 3:45-5:00 • Meeting Place: A2301 • Sponsors: Mrs. Piotrowski, Ms. Layson, Mrs. Mooney, Mr. Pavlak Next meeting August 28!

  8. FCCLAFamily Career and Community Leaders of America • Purpose: Offers members the opportunity to participate in community service, develop leadership skills, and meet new people! • Eligibility: Open to ALL Jaguars! • Dues: $30.00 includes t-shirt • Meeting Time/Day: advisement club days AND every Thursday 3:45-4:15 • Meeting Place: A.2.105 • Sponsor: Ms. Dawson

  9. Purpose: An international student organization dedicated to supporting young people interested in education-related careers. • Eligibility: Any 9-12 grader interested in a career in education. • Dues: $20 • Meeting Time/Day: TBA • Sponsor: Mrs. Galm, Mrs. Verdell

  10. The FCA Vision: To see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. • Eligibility: Open to all Christians. You do not have to be an athlete to join • Special Meeting Time or Day: TBA • Meeting Place: TBA • Sponsor: Mrs. Bartlett, Mr. Mouton

  11. Fine Arts Club • Purpose: To provide talented visual arts students with opportunities to participate in school related fine arts activities • Dues:$25 includes t-shirt • Meeting Time/Day: every Thursday 3:45 – 5:30 • Meeting Place: Room A1.300 • Sponsors: Mrs. Houlihan, Mrs. Lavin

  12. Freshman Class • Purpose: To promote spirit and camaraderie among 9th grade students. • Dues: $15.00, includes class spirit t-shirt • Sponsors: Ms. Worlds & Ms. Serratelli If you would like to run for Freshman Class Office (president, vice-president, secretary), get an application from the NMHS Freshman Academy website, or pick one up from Ms. Worlds (D2204) or Ms. Seratelli (D2115). Application deadline: Friday, August 30.

  13. Future Business Leaders of America(FBLA) • Purpose: Help students develop vocational and career skills! • Eligibility: All students • Dues: $30 includes t-shirt • Special Meeting Time or Day: advisement club day and monthly morning meetings TBA • Meeting Place: A2300 • Sponsor: Mrs. Eidson

  14. HOSA Health Occupations Students of America • Purpose: To offer post secondary opportunities to high school students interested in the healthcare field. • Eligibility: All students. • Dues: $40.00 includes a HOSA T-shirt • Register and pay dues by September 13, and you will be invited to a Welcome Back Breakfast. • Meeting Day/Time: TBA • Meeting Place: A.2.106 • Sponsor: Tamara Whitehead-Coleman

  15. InternationalClub • Purpose: To learn more about different cultures, such as food, art, music, games, etc. • Eligibility: Open to all students who have an interest in languages and cultures. • Dues: $5.00 • Meeting Time/Day: 1st Tuesday of each month after school in room C2211 • Sponsors: Sra. Ferguson & Srta. Sanders

  16. Purpose: Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. • Eligibility: 2.0 GPA • Dues: $25.00 • Meeting Times: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (unless holiday) • Meeting Place: C1211 • Sponsors: Mrs. Galm & Mrs. West

  17. Mock Trial Team • Dues: $10 • Meeting Times: November-January, 3:50-5:00; days and times TBA • Meeting Place: A1301 • Sponsor: Cody Bonds

  18. Purpose: NHS recognizes outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. • Eligibility: 3.75 academic GPA and demonstrate service, leadership, character & citizenship. • Dues: TBD • Meeting Time/Place: TBA • Sponsors: Mrs. Pouncey & Ms. Worlds

  19. Purpose: To form relationships between students with disabilities and students without disabilities. These relationships are fostered through participating in community service projects and special outings. • Eligibility: No grade requirements. We want students who are dedicated to becoming leaders, and who enjoy making a difference in their community. • Dues: $10 (includes club T-shirt) • Special Meeting Time or Day: advisement club day AND 2 after-school meetings each month on Thursday • Meeting Place: C1202 • Sponsor: Kitty Robbins

  20. Eligibility: Open to all male students. • Dues: $25 • Meeting Time/Day: every other Tuesday 8:15 & 3:45 • Meeting Place: C2111 • Sponsor: Raymond Leonard & Chris Atkinson

  21. Reading Bowl Team • Purpose: Reading Fun & Memory Competition • Eligibility: Students must read and understand 20 books. • Dues: $10 • Meeting Time /Day: Tuesday and/or Thursday until 5:30 • Meeting Place: Media Center • Sponsors: Mrs. Renard, Mrs. Ford

  22. Sisters in Service • Purpose: The Sisters in Service club is a student-led organization designed to foster positive and productive relationships between female students regardless of race, creed or color and to create peer mentors at NMHS. • Eligibility: Selected young ladies must be willing to serve as NMHS mentors. Members are required to attend meetings and seminars in addition to participation in community service projects. • Dues: $20.00 • Special Meeting Time or Day: 3rd Wednesday of every month, 3:45-4:30 • Meeting Place: C1111 • Sponsors: Mrs. Francis & Ms. Sterling

  23. SociétéHonoraire de Français French National Honor Society • Purpose: To recognize and honor superior students of French • Eligibility: Invitation only. Based on academic and behavioral criteria. • Dues: $25.00 • Meeting Time/Day: TBA • Meeting Place: C 2108 • Sponsor: Mr. Green, French teacher

  24. Spanish National Honor Society • Purpose: To promote interest in the study of Spanish, high standards of scholarship, reward scholastic achievements, & create enthusiasm for and an understanding of Spanish culture • Eligibility: Juniors/Seniors in Spanish 3 or higher, B or better in all Spanish classes, 3.25 GPA • Dues: $30 for new members, $15 for returning members, includes cost of stole for seniors • Meeting Time/Day: 3rdTuesday of every month at 3:45 • Meeting Place: C2211 • Sponsor: Sra. Ferguson

  25. Chess Masters • Purpose: To promote interest in the game of chess and sending a team to the Georgia chess championships to represent NMHS. • Eligibility: All students • Dues: None. • Meeting Time/Day: Every Wednesdays 3:45-5 • Meeting Place: C2200 • Sponsor: Mr. Timbol First meeting September 4!

  26. Purpose: Be a part of NMHS governance and decision-making. Work with school and community leaders. Prepare yourself to become a leader. • Eligibility: • No discipline issues • Participate in election process • Possess a desire to be a part of the NMHS legacy • Meetings: Twice a month after school. Dates TBA • Sponsor: Alyicia Richards

  27. Purpose:To promote academic excellence in sciences, increase scientific awareness within the school, encourage careers in science, and develop a love of science among our students. • Meetings: TBA • Sponsors: Mr. Bethel & Mrs. Shaw

  28. DEBATE TEAM • Purpose: Students work together to learn basic debating skills, researching and writing casework to compete in debate tournaments. • Meetings: TBA • Sponsors: Ms. Matthews & Ms. Robertson

  29. How do you join? • Club Rush is Wednesday, August 28 in the courtyard before school. • Visit with the sponsors of your top choices and apply!
