Questions • Newton’s 2nd Law states that when an unbalanced fore acts on an object, the object is accelerated in the direction of the force. • We used Newton’s 2nd Law to find the mass of the cart by creating an unbalanced force on the cart and measured the acceleration. • The y-values are the force applied, the x-values are the acceleration and the plotted dots or the slope are the mass. • The force needed to overcome the friction on the cart is the y-intercept, 4.9576 N.
