  1. Here's How You Plan the Perfect Debut

  2. Your 18th birthday happens only once and it's totally understandable if you're breaking out in hives just thinking of how to pull off the party of a lifetime. But planning a debut shouldn't stress you out!

  3. Attend a Debut Fair This will help you get the best vendors and suppliers. If you're lucky, you might even be able to book them for a discounted price!

  4. Settle on a Theme Planning around a color, a motif, or a particular theme can make things a lot easier. It'll help you decide what type of decor to prepare, what kind of dress to wear, and even what food to serve!

  5. Always be Mindful of Your Expenses Even if your parents have given you free reign on what to spend on, it's important to keep your budget at a reasonable amount. Try to save on souvenirs by having your girlfriends help you DIY them or if you're art-savvy, make your own invites!

  6. Manage Your Time Wisely Just because you're super busy coordinating with your suppliers and guests doesn't mean you get to skip school. Make sure you allot "debut time" and "study time" accordingly.

  7. Find Inspiration Everywhere Love watching awards shows? Take note of dresses you see on the red carpet and save photos as pegs for when you go to your seamstress or designer.

  8. Good Food, Good party It doesn't even have to be a 5-star hotel menu kind of meal. Stick with your favorites and make sure that your guests will enjoy them, too!

  9. Know That There's no One Way to Celebrate Turning 18 If you don't need a cotillion, don't force yourself to have one. If you prefer to celebrate with a handful of your closest friends by the beach you grew up in, go right ahead! Remember that there really are no rules to debuts. Celebrate the way you want -it'syour day after all.
