  1. Making KINDNESS Global

  2. I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same. - Rachel Scott

  3. Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. She was 17 years old. Her acts of kindness and compassion have become the foundation for one of the most life-changing programs in America- RACHEL’S CHALLENGE.

  4. After her death, Rachel's father, established Rachel's Challenge to perpetuate his daughter's example and the two-page "Code of Ethics" she wrote a month before her death

  5. Rachel knew from early on that she wanted to make a difference. At the age of 13, she traced her hands on the back of a piece of furniture and wrote: "These hands belong to Rachel Joy Scott and will some day touch millions of people's hearts."

  6. Rachel’s Challengehelps us recognize a purpose in life- to inspire every person to create a permanent, positive culture change by starting a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.

  7. Rachel Scott believed that to start a chain reaction of kindness, each of us must embrace these five powerful challenges:

  8. We have an opportunity to start our own chain reaction of kindness. Our challenge is to spread kindness and good deeds all over the world- Making KINDNESS Global. Kindness cards, measure how one simple act of kindness can start a Chain Reaction of Kindness around the globe and touch the lives of many.

  9. Here’s how it will work: • Do an Act of Kindness for someone • Give them a Kindness Card • Ask them to pass it on with their own Act of Kindness • By email, we will be able to see how global our Chain Reaction of Kindness has become. • (front of the kindness card) (Back of the kindness card)

  10. Acts of Kindness can be any good deed or kindness that comes from your heart. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. - Leo Buscaglia
