  1. What are the Different Stages of the Property Conveyancing Process? The legal and administrative process involved in transferring a property from one person to another is known as conveyancing. A conveyancing solicitor ensures that all the legal requirements are met from start to finish in buying or selling a property. Three Stages of Property Conveyancing Process Agreeing with the Sales In the first stage, the solicitor provides a pack containing the legal forms which is sent to the buyer's solicitor. The pack contains – the property information form, fixture, fittings and contents form, a copy of your title, and contract of sale. Exchange of Contract When the buyer's solicitor is happy and appropriate financing is in place, the exchange of contracts begins. The buyer pays a deposit for 10% of the property's purchase price, and this step ties both parties into the transaction of the property. Completion of Sale The buyer's solicitor arranges to transfer funds to the seller's conveyancing solicitor in the completion stage. The seller party hand-over the keys to the estate agent and these are further passed to the buyer after the transfer of money is completed. Phew!
