PST-For New Teachers One year B.Ed Tech study program offered at University of the Punjab in collaboration with Virtual University of Pakistan and Technical University of Kaiserslautern (Germany) Blended learning approach applied with 4 pillars: - Face to face class room study sessions - Self learning phases at VUP campuses - Internship, Teaching practice in TVET institutes - Internship in the relevant industry94 students in 3 disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, IT and Computer Science) enrolled, will pass-out in October 2015

ISSUES • There is lack of Skill-Hand on Training, • Are not linked with Industry, therefore they don’t have Job market relevant or updated skill, • Proper Mechanism and Incentives for up-gradation of Knowledge and Skill are not available. • Training facilities at institutes are either not available or not updated, • Teachers involved both – by the institute & Government in co-curricular, extra co-curricular and other duties in the fields, • There is no Recognition and Reward system

  9. Recommendations • For Teachers: • Reward system will be introduced, • Provided Dedicated contact in Industry, • Conducive environment for delivery of training be established, • Training for Career Counselling/Guidance and Career Placement shall be provided. • Others: • Concept of Self Employment. • Vocationalization of School of GE, • Introduction of Training is Madaris.
