Purpose / Approach of CIM for Weather • Extend the CIM to cover weather information • Use of weather information is pervasive in utilities (load forecasting, planning for events (resource pre-deployment), restoration, root cause analysis) • Approach: • Drive requirements by defining use cases (business, then system) • Encourage outside input • Leverage or harmonize with existing weather standards • Keep WG13 and WG14 “in the loop”
