  4. THEME DRESS DAYS • Theme dress days are NOT FREE DRESS DAYS! All students not participating are to be in school uniform. • Students who are participating must follow the theme guidelines listed for that theme day.

  5. Monday, October 23 – “Red Out” • Students wear Red Clothing. • Majority of clothing item must be red. • Non-red clothing items must comply with uniform policy.

  6. Tuesday, October 24 Don’t Let Drugs Mix You Up • Students must wear mismatched clothes.

  7. Wednesday, October 25 “HAIR’s” to a Drug Free Life • Students may wear in a crazy style or fix their hair up crazy, non-permanent hair paint/color is permitted. • Hair color and style must be done before coming to school: • Leave all hair products at home. • i.e. hair gel, spray, color, etc. • All hair color must be washable and non-permanent and be removed by Thursday.

  8. Thursday, October 26 – “I’m to Bright for Drugs” • Students may wear bright colored clothing. • All other clothing items must comply with uniform policy.

  9. Friday, OCTOBER 27 – “Follow Your Dreams Don’t Do Drugs” • Students may wear pajamas to school. • No see through, sheer, tank top or spaghetti strap PJs may be worn. • All pajama clothing must be complete with top and bottoms, no mixing with non pajama clothing items. • No sweat pants or tops may be worn. • No slippers, stuffed animals, or blankets.

  11. Door Decorating Contest Rules All teachers and offices are invited to participate in this event. Teachers any one of your periods may enter the contest. The students in that period will be awarded the winning prizes. • Decorations must be viewable from outside the classroom for judging. All decorations must be within the limits of the door frame. Anything outside the door frame will not be judged. • The door must be able to open and close normally. • The door design must include the words, Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free. • The door design must promote a drug free life style or have an anti-drug, alcohol, tobacco or bullying theme. • The following criteria will be used in the judging of the door designs: The use of the words, Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free; Originality and creativity of drug free or anti-drug/bullying message; Use of materials. • Doors may be decorated beginning Friday, October 20 and will be judged on Thursday, October 26 during 6th period (1:35-2:28). • The winners will be announced during Friday, October 27th.

  13. T-Shirt Design Contest Rules • Your design must include the Red Ribbon Week Theme of Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free. The word Lathrop must also be included in your design. • Your design may appear on the back or front of the shirt, please indicate on your entry where the design is to appear. • Your design may not exceed 11” (inches) wide and 12” (inches) high and can include up to 4 colors. • One design per entry. However, participants may enter as many entries as they want. • Your design must be wholly original and promote a drug free message. • Entries must be submitted to Mr. Raya by 3:30 P.M. Friday, November 2nd. Entries may be submitted on hard copy (paper) or by e-mail to paul.raya@sausd.us. Submissions can also be hand drawn or designed using a design program such as Photoshop or Illustrator. • All entries become the property of Lathrop PAL. • The winners will be announced during College Prep on November 8th.

  14. All winning designs will be featured on Lathrop’s web site. • 1st Place design will be featured on the official Lathrop PAL Red Ribbon T-Shirt and the designer will receive two T-Shirts. • 2nd & 3rd Place designers will receive one T-Shirt each.

  17. What is Mariachi?? Mariachi is traditional folkloric music from Mexico which originated in the state of Jalisco. Mariachi is Mexico’s national identity!
