  1. The Importance of Checking VIN for Used Caravans Before going into why you should carry out a VIN check for caravan especially before buying a used one, a quick look at what VIN is will be in order. VIN is short for Vehicle Identification Number and all caravans manufactured after 1992 have it embossed on every window post and the doorpost at entry. It is a unique number; just like a fingerprint, no two can be identical. A VIN is a combination of 17 alphabets and numbers each representing one aspect of the caravan such as compliance details, engine number and type, body type, vehicle color, year of manufacture, and make and model. The last six numbers are the serial number of the vehicle. Now, if you do a VIN check for caravan before buying a used one all these details will be with you. By checking the caravan you intend to buy physically with VIN, you will know at once if the caravan is genuine, is not stolen, is not flood damaged, does not have a tampered odometer, and many such critical details that will ensure that you are making a good investment. There is another aspect to carrying out a VIN check for caravanbefore buying a used one.

  2. Many owners avail finance from a financial institution to buy the caravan. Now, if there is any loan outstanding when the seller wants to dispose of the caravan, the buyer will not be able to transfer the ownership and get a clear title to the vehicle. This aspect will be known to you when you do a VIN check for caravan before making a full and final payment. Keep these things in mind before buying a used caravan.
