  2. Glands • Pituitary: this is the “Master Gland” very important! It controls the thyroid gland and the other glands as well. • Thyroid: controls your rate of metabolism, burning the food you eat. *Thyroxin • Parathyroid: controls the level of calcium in your blood • Adrenal: releases adrenaline, which helps you when you get scared or excited • Testes: responsible for sperm production in males • Ovaries: responsible for egg production in females • Pancreas: regulates the level of sugar in your blood by producing and releasing insulin
