Overview of the Seven Glands of the Endocrine System and Their Functions
The endocrine system consists of seven key glands, each playing vital roles in regulating body functions. The **pituitary gland** is known as the "Master Gland," controlling other glands. The **thyroid gland** regulates metabolism through thyroxin. The **parathyroid glands** manage calcium levels in the blood. The **adrenal glands** release adrenaline during stress or excitement. In males, the **testes** produce sperm, while in females, the **ovaries** are responsible for egg production. Finally, the **pancreas** helps control blood sugar by producing insulin.
