What’s Going On • Happy New Year! • Protective gear required • What’s going on: • Mike Lamm talk at the DOE in Germantown went well • No major problems • No significant discussion of collared structure vs. shell & bladder • But we’ll wait until report is released… • Round 2 w/ EG&G QA & ‘as is’ self assessment • Meet with Jim Rife & QA today • Budget for FY2009 could be better than expected • Large increase in science funding in proposed budget • More than original budget for FY08 • If true, we won’t have enough time or people to spend it rationally… J. Tompkins

What’s Going On, cont... • EG&G to ‘help’ in staffing • Hiring people (engineers) to fit lab needs… • We review resumes (according to plan) • They are EG&G employees – different benefits, vacations, etc. • HINS • Preparation for cryostat production and testing continuing • Next meeting to continue preparation of QA plans, travelers, documentation, etc. next Tuesday • Magnetic Measurements • Replacement for mole (self contained, portable measurement system) • Follow up meeting to develop complete set of requirements and specifications, soon… J. What’s Going On, cont... • Coordination with T&I • I spoke with Ruben last week – he said he will set up an inter-department meeting • Need to determine Mike Lamm’s schedule • Other • LARP/APL • Sandor will lead development of power lead interface box re-configuration for APL • Prepare for a year of QA… J. Safety! • Safety awareness • PPE • Up to date on safety glasses, shoes, hand protection, etc.? • Training status of group • GERT, Back care, etc. – up to date • TD safety awareness reminders • Stop, think, then act… • MTF operations – general safety issues • SNOW and ICE awareness • It’s that time of year • Any other issues? • General Reminder: Doors must be locked after 3:30pm! • Problems continue with doors being left unlocked • Some door are unlocked when opened with a key and stay unlocked – please check!
