Pattern 1A is a sentence structure that utilizes conjunctive adverbs to connect two independent clauses. This structure typically involves a subject-verb format on both sides of a semicolon, with the conjunctive adverb placed after the semicolon. Examples of conjunctive adverbs include however, therefore, and consequently, among others. While the comma following the conjunctive adverb is optional, its use enhances clarity. Through practical examples, this guide illustrates how to effectively apply Pattern 1A in writing.
