  2. Who is SRP? • Established in 1903 • 105 year steward of the environment • Largest water supplier to Valley • Third largest public power utility in the Nation • 950,000 electric customers

  3. Sustainable Portfolio • Established by SRP Board, includes renewable resources and energy efficiency measures • 2004 – Target of 2% of retail sales by 2010 • 2006 – Target of 15% of retail sales by 2025 • 2011 – Target of 20% of retail sales by 2020

  4. Sustainable Portfolio Mix Total 10.21% of Retail Sales

  5. Renewable Energy Investment Fund • An agreement made in 2005 between the Grand Canyon Trust and the owners of the Springerville Generating Station (TEP and SRP). • $5M fund was established for the purpose of funding renewable energy, demand side management, and greenhouse gas sequestration projects. Project Criteria • Benefit Native American communities in northern Arizona and northwestern New Mexico • Have additional revenues committed to supporting the project • Are well planned and likely to be well maintained • Have strong support by community leaders • Create opportunities for training and employing local residents • Create opportunities for sustainable economic development • Strengthen existing or establish new partnerships National Tribal Forum
