  2. Handcuffs and Hooligans A review of the faults and errors in the system (zero-tolerance) that ends with 6 year olds behind bars and a comprehensive evaluation of alternate strategies. Covers the healing power of Restorative Justice, the student involvement of Peer Justice, and the preventative tactics of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The end goal of this project is to develop a new system to replace the current zero-tolerance policy at district 211. The new system will be a composite of systems that have more flexibility, offense-specific punishments, and durability than that of the old policy. Kyle Erickson

  3. Should We Label Kids Gifted? Dave Blanchette Many people have done studies of gifted students and certain negative aspects of being gifted. But, why do we label certain children gifted? Is labeling students gifted productive? Does it have positive or negative effects on our future? The project, basically, will consist of a qualitative study of gifted students. My idea is that there will be three different groups studied those who were labeled in 3rd grade, those who have not been labeled until high school, and those who were labeled in elementary school and no longer are.

  4. Filter U Students have struggled for a long time to decide where to spend their years after high school. There are too many good schools to really evaluate all your options. This is why I am making a computer program to filter out the schools that aren't right for you. All you have to do is select your preferred criteria, and a list of schools will be generated just for you! Eric Pohl
