  4. Now that you understand the project, LET’S START to FIND INFORMATION about your topic.

  5. Before you go to the library, there are some things you can do right in your classroom to get ready.

  7. What do you already know about the topic?

  8. What are the main questions that you need to answer?

  9. What are the KEYWORDS or PHRASES you will need in order to research your topic?

  15. Good Resources Are Up to Date (Current) Should be Easy for You to Read Contain information that covers all the topics of your project (answers all the main questions) Use the 5-Finger Rule

  17. Whether you are using a book, an almanac, a magazine, an encyclopedia or the Internet make sure that: You can read it by yourself (or most of it) It is up to date It contains information that will help you with your project (It answers the main questions)

  18. Always Respect the Work of Others Make a list all the resources (books, magazines, Internet sites, etc.) that you’ve used to complete your project. Include this list with your project so that your teacher knows where your information came from.
