Maine Income Tax loss State Loss Town Loss Out of State Plate Income Tax Excise Taxes Other Fees OWNER Sales Tax Tracking, Added to Roles DRIVERS LICENSE Per Person = $250.00 for Town and $4500 for State of Maine Multiply this times the average total of violators per Town = 350 Excise taxes loss per Town, 350 x 200.00 = $87,500 per year State income tax is 350 x 4500 = $1,570.000 x 21 border towns. The loss is staggering. Add sales tax loss and its even higher Average Income Tax Paid = 4500.00 Average Excise tax (100 to 800) = 250.00 Drivers license cost = 40.00 Hunting Licenses, Inspections, Incidentals = 150.00 Uninsured Motorists big risk to Maine Residents.

Est. $15,000.00 • New residents with NH plates continue to move in. • Loose some who already have registered due to income tax.

  14. WHAT DID IT REALLY COST • Lebanon Budgeted $14,000.00 • Enforcement brought in $16,462.13 • Most of this would not have come in without enforcement. • Constable Budget was $4054.66 (as of 5-29-2014) • $30,462.13 SUBTRACT $4054.66 = $26407.47

  15. FINAL RESULT • LEBANON HAS MANY NEW MAINE PLATES • AT NO COST TO LEBANON SINCE MANY OF THESE VEHICLES WOULD NOT HAVE REGISTERED. • MANY MORE LEFT TO ENFORCE, MANY OUT OF STATE VEHICLES STILL EXIST IN LEBANON • AFTER SUMMER SEASON, ENFORCEMENT SHOULD RESUME.
