  1. QENERGY Europe Initiating the LNG Bunkering Project LNG as the basic ship fuel

  2. LNG Bunkering Services / transfer of LNG via the terminal into mini LNG vessel (bunkering ship) and fuel ships: • passenger ships • Containers • Bulks • tanks • general cargos • Offshores • RoRo • other ships

  3. LNG Bunkering Services: • LNG Supply from QATAR, the world largest producer • LNG deliver to Revithoussa Import Terminal • Back loading: transfer of LNG via Revithoussa terminal / storage into mini LNG vessel (bunkering ship) • Transshipment: transfer LNG from the mini LNG vessel (bunkering ship) to other ships as fuel • Marine Tanks loading: LNG can be loaded on bunkering tanks at the ports

  4. The LNG Bunkering Process Revithoussa terminal / storage tanks, Greece LNG large scale vessels, Qatar RevithoussaTerminal LNG loaded on tank trucks as industrial fuel LNG break bulk Transfer LNG via the terminal into mini LNG vessel (bunkering ship), QENERGY

  5. Benefits of using LNG as ship fuel: • The use of LNG as ship fuel has recently gained more attention in Europe, but also in Asia and USA. There are three visible drivers which, taken together, make LNG as ship fuel one of the most promising fuels and technologies for shipping. • The use of LNG as ship fuel will reduce sulphuroxide (SOx) emissions by 100%. This reduction level will also be mandated within the so called Emission Control Areas (ECAs) by 2015. A similar reduction will be enforced for worldwide shipping by 2020. „„ • The lower carbon content of LNG compared to traditional ship fuels enables a 20-25% reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Any slip of methane during bunkering or usage needs to be avoided to maintain this advantage. • LNG is less costly than fuel oil. Current low LNG prices in Europe suggest that a price - based on energy content - comparable to heavy fuel oil (HFO) seems more than possible, even when taking into account the small scale distribution of the LNG. • LNG cost (as commodity - free of charge with infrastructure costs, • transportation, and taxes) comes at least 36% cheaper than fuel oil.

  6. LNG Supply from QATAR: QENERGY Europe holds a Master LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement (MSPA with RAS LAFFAN LIQUIFIED NATURAL GAS COMPANY LIMITED (RL3). Notice that Qatar is the world largest producer of LNG. Today, half of the world’s LNG production derives from RasGas and QatarGas, with a large investment program set to increase their production. More than 1,300 ships will be LNG fueled by 2020 6 - 10 million tons p.a. of LNG as fuel shipping expected by 2020
