Major Laws • National Environmental Policy Act • Requires federal government agencies to consider environmental impact of their actions • Environmental Assessments • Environmental Impact Statements • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act • Superfund to clean up hazardous waste sites, accidents, spills and emergency releases of pollutants and contaminants
