  4. They’re not out of Bell yet! • Habits are being formed • Grades at Bell will determine placement in high school • Do you have access to your child’s Portal? • Check at least once a week • Same access also for high school

  5. 9th Grade – Freshman Year • Homework WILL increase • Provide a quiet study space to work • Your child should come prepared with their planner, 3-ring binder with dividers, pens/pencils, erasers, ruler, and lined paper. • Teacher will inform students of their class needs in the syllabus • Where to get help? • First step to homework • Organize backpack!!!!!!!

  8. What about those AP classes? • College level class • “C” or better • Pass the AP exam with a 3 or better • May count as a replacement college class • A LOT MORE WORK!!!!!!

  11. Math • Last class determines placement • Placement is determined by grades, benchmark scores, teacher recommendation • Think carefully about Algebra 2 vs. Algebra 2 Trig • SAT testing
