MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING CERTIFICATION • No person owning a qualified multifamily dwelling in the City of Marlborough shall, with respect to a subject property on which the qualified multifamily dwelling is located, enter into a purchase-and-sale agreement or sale agreement, seek to transfer the subject property, or list the subject property for sale with a licensed real estate broker, unless and until such person has first obtained from the Building Commissioner or his/her designee a certificate regarding legal multifamily dwelling units, and has subsequently supplied that certificate to the Marlborough Fire Department prior to the Marlborough Fire Department conducting an inspection of the subject property pursuant to MGL c. 148, § 26F.

ABANDONED AND/OR FORECLOSING HOUSING CERTIFICATION It is the purpose and intent of this article to protect and preserve public safety and security, and the quiet enjoyment of occupants, abutters and neighborhoods, by: requiring all residential property owners, including lenders, trustees and service companies, to register abandoned and/or foreclosing residential properties with the City of Marlborough; and regulating the maintenance and security of abandoned and/or foreclosing residential properties to help prevent blighted and unsecure residences. /

  23. WORKING WITH FIRE DEPARTMENT • (a) Any building determined to be especially unsafe in case of fire, under the provisions of • 780 CMR 121.2 shall be identified and caused to be marked by the building official, with the • cooperation of the head of the fire department, to indicate the degree of hazard. • (b) In marking such buildings, the following symbols shall be used: • This symbol shall mean that interior hazard exists to such a degree that interior • operations shall be conducted with extreme caution. This symbol shall not in any way • limit the discretion of the on scene Incident Commander in directing operations that • the Incident Commander deems necessary. • This symbol shall mean that exterior or interior hazards exists to such a degree that • consideration should be given to conduct operations from the exterior only. This • symbol shall not in any way limit the discretion of the on scene Incident Commander • in directing operations that the Incident Commander deems necessary.
