  1. Case Study Part III Due July 27

  2. Project requirements • Describe three applications of our summer session classes (beginning June 22) to your case study student.

  3. For each of these • Important mathematical idea • Strategy for teaching it • Specific scaffold (s) for supporting understanding of the math idea • Example of how you would use the scaffold, such as: • Directions you would give the student • Sample poster, graphic, cue cards, altered problem • Supporting questions you would ask

  4. For each of these (continued) • Explanation of why the strategy and scaffold(s) are relevant to your case study student. Relate to your student’s strengths, challenges and mathematical understanding.

  5. In grading, we will consider • Clear link between the strategy/scaffold(s) and the student’s strengths, challenges and mathematical understanding • Clarity • Understanding of the purpose of the scaffold(s) selected NOTE: This part of the Case Study project is worth 1/5 of the total project.
