Enviro Audit of PGSS • Enviro audit of the offices of PGSS • Past electricity and waste audits of Thomson House demonstrated high efficiency • Enviro audit looked at : energy consumption, purchasing policies, the degree of awareness of the University’s Environmental Policy among staff, the degree of recycling, etc…

  3. Enviro Audit Results • Scored very well on most questions – printer cartridges reused, energy star laser printer, fair trade coffee, awareness of environmental policy, left over refreshments from events are donated to Garde-Manger, etc…

  4. Areas for Improvement • Documents could be edited for efficient paper use • Requesting less packaging for supplies • Publications (PGSS handbook) could use more recycled paper • Minimize fax cover paper use • Using postcards for mailouts • Coffee filters could be reusable or made of unbleached recycled paper

  5. PGSS Environmental Policy • Seven policies will be put forth • Some concern the dissemination of policies and information on sustainable practices • Another concerns sustainability projects • Another concerns purchasing policies

  6. Car Free Day • Enviro Handout • The Electric Snowmobile • Great potential. • Limited speed and distance. • No emissions.
