  1. Prom 2013 “Classics” May 11th, 7-11pm Magnolia Complex, Humble

  2. First… • The questions

  3. Why Magnolia Center? • We were going to have prom at the Walden Country Club • Pervious years • $75 for the room rental • $1400 for the food • This year • $1000 for the room rental • $1400 for the food • That’s $2400 for just a room and food • No decorations, DJ, gift bags, security (required)…

  4. Why not raise more $? • Had a week of spirit wear • Had a car wash • Sold advertisements and asked for money from individuals • Prom committee members visited over 80 shops asking for donations • Members asked at events and organizations they attend • Sent email to every junior and senior parent asking for donations and asking for help raising money • Wanted to keep prom ticket prices low • No where near $2400

  5. Why not somewhere else? • Contacted 15 other locations • Already booked for May 11th • Cost as much or more than Walden • Not an “approved vendor” by Humble ISD • Would not accept payment format Humble ISD uses

  6. Why weren’t you Asked? • That’s what prom committee is for • Prom committee has been meeting since October • Meeting days/times on school announcements, in school newsletter, on FB, on board in Mrs. Shmaefsky’s room, on her webpage, spoken in class and by word of mouth • Open to juniors and seniors

  7. Now… • What’s going to be great about prom

  8. location • Ok, if you’ve driven by the Magnolia Complex (on Wilson road across from the bowling alley), the building you can see from the road doesn’t look so good. • But, our building looks good with lots of room and a pretty deck, garden, and gazebo in the back

  9. Theme • Our theme is “Classic”, think… • Old Hollywood • Glamour • 20’s – 50’s • Great Gatsby/Art Deco Quest Prom 2013

  10. food • Instead of a lot of a few things to try, there will be many different kinds of foods to eat • Maybe a chocolate fountain?

  11. extras • Beautiful décor • Goodie bags • Tons of pictures of you, by you, for you

  12. And most importantly You

  13. Tickets • Before April 16th • $25/individual • $40/couple • After April 16th • $30/individual • $45/couple

  14. Dress code • Dress classy • Girls • No midriffs showing • No excessive cleavage • No hems or slits above fingertip length • No shorts • Guys • No shorts • No tank tops • You get the idea
