  2. Open Macromedia FLASH MX.

  3. If you have to choose an option, then choose ‘Developer’.

  4. FLASH opened.

  5. Click on ‘Text Tool’.

  6. Click anywhere on the white rectangle& type your first name.

  7. If the text is small then change the font size near the bottom.

  8. 66 is a good font size.

  9. Click the square below to change the colour.

  10. Click on frame 20.

  11. Right click & ‘Insert Keyframe’.

  12. Click on frame 40.

  13. Right click & ‘Insert Keyframe’.

  14. Click on frame 20.

  15. Click on the ‘Arrow Tool’.

  16. Click any frame between 20 & 40.

  17. Press ‘delete’.

  18. Click on frame 20.

  19. Click the ‘Text Tool’.

  20. Click anywhere &type your last name.

  21. Click on any frame between 1 & 20.

  22. Click the ‘Arrow Tool’.

  23. Right click over your name.

  24. Choose ‘Break Apart’.

  25. This is what it will look like.

  26. Right click on your name again& choose ‘Break Apart’ again.

  27. Click on frame 20.

  28. Right click on your last name.

  29. Choose ‘Break Apart’.

  30. Right click & choose ‘Break Apart’ again.

  31. Click on frame 40.

  32. Right click on your name again& choose ‘Break Apart’ again.

  33. Right click one last time &choose ‘Break Apart’.

  34. Click on any frame between 1 & 20.

  35. Click on the arrow beside the ‘tween’ box and choose ‘Shape’.

  36. Click any frame between 20 & 40.

  37. Click on the arrow beside the ‘tween’ box & choose ‘Shape’

  38. Click ‘File’.

  39. Choose ‘Publish Preview’ & ‘Flash’ to preview your movie.

  40. Click the grey ‘x’ to close the preview.

  41. The next slide will explain how to save your working file. *note: the working file is saved as a .fla file.

  42. Click ‘File’ & ‘Save As…’ to save your working file.

  43. The next two slides will explain how to ‘save/export’ your movie file. *note: the movie is saved as a .swf file.

  44. Click ‘File’ and ‘Export Movie’ to save your movie.

  45. Choose a name for your movie file.

  46. The next two slides explain how to view your finished movie file.

  47. Open the folder your saved your movie in and click on it.

  48. You will then be able to view your movie.
