  2. Operation Boerne

  3. An opportunity for students of all ages at schools across Boerne ISD to send letters, cards, and care packages to United States military men and women worldwide. Operation Boerne

  4. There are approximately 1.4 million active duty US military men and women in the United States and worldwide. Of the deployed troops, many do not receive mail from home and these care packages may be their only packages or letters. Why?

  5. These men and women sacrifice so much to protect our country, leaving their family, friends, and home to protect the everyday freedoms that Americans often times take for granted.

  6. Previous Care Package Recipients

  7. Afghanistan, 2009

  8. “Thank you so much for doing this for us.  I hope that our sincere gratitude and appreciation is known by this simple message.  I’m just one of the average GIs in the unit, so it was very special to get such an astounding present from complete strangers.  Please know that we will keep doing our best to serve in Afghanistan and that your efforts help keep our morale high and our pride in America strong.” –Brian B

  9. Qatar, 2012

  10. “It is good to know that although we are far away from our friends and families that there are people like you care enough to send us special gifts like these! ” - Lieutenant Colonel David G.

  11. Afghanistan

  12. “It is people like you that help soldiers through some of the hardest times in their lives, with something as small as a cookie to remind them of home and giving them the strength to last until they are home.” -Sergeant Aaron Beck

  13. How You Can Help

  14. Write a letter to a deployed service member to thank them for their sacrifice

  15. Bring items to put into your class care package to be shipped overseas.
