Therefore, read on to know the few common ways in which cats show their affection that you might be failing to comprehend. So let us dive in. Through Their Tails We all know that a dog’s tail plays a big role in them showing affection towards humans. Similarly, a cat’s tail does the same as well. Tail placement is important in figuring out the various moods your cat is exhibiting. For instance, if your kitty fluffs out the base of his tail while quivering them, it means he is expressing his happiness and warm feelings towards you. Through Purring or Meowing Cat parents do have this tendency of misinterpreting a cat’s purring or meowing as a sign of insecurity or discomfort. But the truth is, a cat meow or a cat purr is a sign that your cat feels safe and reassured while being around you. It’s his way of telling you that he finds comfort when sitting next to you. Through Grooming During grooming, cats do tend to show their affection towards you. You may notice him licking your face or hands while you groom him. This is a sign of him showing his affection towards you. Doing this makes your kitty stay relaxed during grooming, which in turn, helps you in a hassle-free grooming session. Through Cheek Rubs Ever noticed your feline rubbing his head against your cheeks? If yes, then hurray, your cat is showing affection towards you. Cheek rubbing is not just a thing cats normally do to people. They do it to only those humans that they trust and feel safe

  3. around. It is also a way of indicating to you that he is open to socializing. Through Head Butting Who said head butting is only for rugby and soccer players? Cats too like to head butt, but more so in an affectionate way. While doing the head butt, they transfer their scent to you and proclaim their bragging rights. They do so as a sign of marking their territory that you belong to them, only them. Cute, isn’t it? Through Persistent Scratching Imagine coming home to scratch marks all over your favorite sofa or various other kinds of stuff. This would definitely upset you and perhaps even make you lose your cool. But did you know that cats do this as a sign of affection? It is a way of trying to express their ownership of you and that they care about you. So, stay calm and curb that anger. There are quite a few more ways in which cats show their affection, but the above-mentioned points are the more common ones.
