  1. I would like to start these remarks by giving a well deserved thanks to: The local organizing Committee and HIP members for their kind welcome excellent organization and convivial atmosphere The speakers for the quality of their presentations And, of course, Jorma for Taking the initiative to organize this workshop And for arranging the perfect Finnish summer weather ! Concluding Remarks Marcello Mannelli b-t Workshop Helsinki May 2002

  2. The main goal of this workshop was to provide an opportunity for the community of “practitioners” to take a step back and review the topic from a wide range of angles. Concluding Remarks

  3. In two and a half days we have covered: The broad range of Higgs & SUSY physics potentially accessible with these signatures Magali & Juinichi The Tracker hardware and software tools Marcello & Lucia Tracker mechanical tolerances & alignment Eija Tuominen, Panja Luukka (for Harry Katajisto), Andrei, Veikko, Tapio Lampen Track reconstruction & pixel track reconstruction (HLT & offline) Teddy & Danek Vertex reconstruction Pascal Concluding Remarks

  4. The optimization ofHLTt tagging Sasha & Giuseppe Use of impact parameter & displaced vertices for t tagging Sami & Lauri b tagging Fabrizio Tracking for electrons, and their use in the H -> tt -> eX search Kati Concluding Remarks

  5. All this was set in a broader prospect by excellent reviews of The Status of the LHC project Jorma for Daniel (!) SUSY Higgs scenarios & Higgs searches Katri Huitu & Ritva The CMS L1 Trigger John Status of b physics today Roy Aleksan Finally, we all very much enjoyed the review of cosmology today, by Hannu Kurki-Suonio Concluding Remarks

  6. It has been a busy few days, and yesterday evening’s relaxing boat ride was very welcome! Concluding Remarks

  7. What do we take out of all this? A refreshed perspective A better understanding of a number of specific points An underlined appreciation of the importance of the Pixel detector for tracking and HLT filtering should we perhaps revisit the issue of hermeticity and read-out efficiency? A small regret: broader participation from our ATLAS colleagues would certainly have further enriched the discussion and exchange of ideas A question: will this have been “the first in a series” of topical workshops on tracking at the LHC? Concluding Remarks
