  6. 4-YEAR UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE ADMISSIONS FLOW CHART

  7. Colleges may need the following Colleges may need the following from a counselor: - Nothing - Secondary School Report/Form - Recommendation

  8. Secondary School Report Most are electronic now. Link counselor into your application by entering his/her email address. Some are paper forms. Bring to Mrs. Stewart and she’ll pass along to the counselor. Please DO NOT leave materials in the counselor’s door box.

  9. Does my college require a counselor rec? -Look on the college’s website for admissions requirements 2015 updates from the Common App: • Colleges can choose to require or not require a counselor recommendation. 2. Requirements will be reflected in multiple places within the application and recommendation systems.

  10. Does my college require a counselor rec?... • The recommendation will be removed from the School Report & incorporated into a new Counselor Recommendation form that will be submitted separately. • Counselors will always have the option to send a recommendation to a college. • The Common App recommendation system will remain a one-and-done process. Once a counselor submits any school form-including the School Report and the new Counselor Recommendation –that form will be made available to the student’s college as soon as the student submits the application to that college.

  11. If you require a counselor recommendation, you will participate in a Counselor Recommendation Session. • What is the college’s deadline? • What is Enloe Student Services in-house deadline? (see back of Flow Chart) • Go to Student Services and sign up in (CRS) notebook with Mrs. Stewart. • Counselor will email you with available dates/times for CRS and required packet.

  12. Common Application • There are over 600 Common App members. • Allows students applying to more than one Common App school to do the “basics” only once. • Student links in counselor and teachers by entering names and email addresses. • We receive notification that we’ve been linked in.

  13. Counselor’s Role in the Common App - Counselor Recommendation, if required • Secondary School Report • Transcript • School Profile All of these pieces are available to any school that the student applies to using Common App.

  14. Out-of-State, Non-Common App Schools Students--Check the colleges websites for requirements. Transcripts – If out of state app, non-common transcripts all requests go through Scribs (online link).

  15. College Foundation of NC (CFNC) Create an account! CFNC allows students applying to NC colleges to enter basic application information only once. Transcripts to NC colleges (except if using Common App) are sent through CFNC by the student. *NOTE: DO NOT request transcripts through CFNC or our school’s online system until you receive notice that it is OK to do so and that rank is final! Some colleges prefer that you apply through their individual websites. If a NC school, you still send your transcript through CFNC.
