    • The FY 2007 House Mark is a reduction of $156.5M or 28% below the FY 2006 Enacted level.

    • The FY 2007 Senate Mark is an increase of $187.9M or 26% above the FY 2006 Enacted level.

    • The FY 2007 Senate Mark is $344.3M higher than the FY 2007 House Mark

    • Impedes implementation of U.S. Ocean Action Plan, and implementation of ESA and MMPA

    • Unsupportive of Magnuson-Stevens Act Reauthorization

    • Eliminates requested increases in critical areas such as

      • Expand Stock Assessments

      • Economics and Social Sciences Research

      • Enforcement and Observers

    • Regional Councils and Commissions funded at $25M --a $1.3M reduction from the President’s Request
