  1. Focus On Jerusalem Prophecy Ministry Why Christians Should Support Israel

  2. Why Christians Should Support Israel Genesis 12:1-3 1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless (barakh-kneel) thee, and curse (arar-qalal—hold in contempt) him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

  3. Israel is God’s Betrothed • Isaiah 54: 5-6 • For thy Maker is thine Husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. • 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. • Ezekiel 16:8 Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.

  4. Jehovah & Israeltypecast / Hosea & Gomer • Jeremiah 3:14 • 14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: • Hosea 2:19-20 • 19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. • 20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.

  5. God Promised to Restore Israel • The culmination of God’s redemptive plan will only occur in conjunction with the spiritual restoration and rejuvenation of Israel. (This is one of the primary themes of the prophets, stated over and over in the Scriptures) • In fact, without an appreciation for the significance of the role Israel will play in the future, one cannot properly begin to grasp God’s prophetic providential program. • Unfortunately, rampant Christian unfamiliarity with the prophetic portion of the Bible leads to a distorted or stunted understanding of God’s plan for this world.

  6. Jesus Really is King of the Jews • Christians should have an understanding of the tremendous drama that has begun unfolding in the rebirth of Israel. • Israel been re-gathered back to the land in an unprecedented, incredible feat of Divine operation. The term used by some religious Jews to describe the state of Israel is “reshit tzemihat ge’ulatenu” -- "the initial stage of our redemption." • During the next stages, stages to which we are witnesses and active participants, the eyes and hearts of the Jewish people will be increasingly turned their KING. • The final stage is when the Redeemer Himself will come to Zion, and Israel literally receives Jesus as their King. (Daniel 9:24, Zechariah 12:10)

  7. The Lord is Building up Zion • Isaiah Chapter 62 • Isaiah provides us some direction regarding our initiatives of support: "Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations. The LORD has made proclamation to the ends of the earth: • Isaiah 62:11-12 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken. • In the context of this pronouncement of the imminent coming of the King, Isaiah directs the listeners to "build up the highway" and "remove the stones". In other words, the Christians of the Last Days Church who read these words and witness the signs of the Lord’s Coming, are to make the roadway smoother, flatter, and clearer for the Jews. This is Biblical or Christian Zionism!

  8. Hath God Cast Away Israel? • Romans 11:11-12I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness? • Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness (pleroma) of the Gentiles be come in. (grafting of the Church quickens the fig tree to life)

  9. The Salvation of Israel Will Ultimately be the World’s Blessing • The idea of support for Israel is not something that Christian Zionists concocted. Christian Zionism is authored by the Lord Himself. (Jeremiah 31:7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.) • This is a direct instruction for Christians to pray to the Lord to save His people Israel, as HE has saved us! Isaiah also implores us to "take no rest and give Him no rest" in our petitions and requests to "establish Zion-Jerusalem". Persistent prayer for Israel is mandatory. (see Isaiah 62:1, 7)

  10. The Promised Land( promised to whom,… by whom? ) • Anyone vaguely familiar with the covenants between God and Israel should understand that the land grant that God unilaterally conveyed upon Israel is an integral part of His covenants. • This same land that today is being contended for by other “gods-parties” who are in opposition to God’s providence of blessing. Christians, of all people should understand this, and comply with God’s will for His people.

  11. Replacement Theology • The Bible upon which Christians base their faith is set almost entirely in the land of Israel. Jesus was a Jew, and the Lamb of Abraham. • Yet today, one would think that the stories in the Bible took place on a different planet, that somehow ancient Israel and modern Israel have nothing to do with each other. • Ignorance of Israel’s place leads to a warped theology, denying any kind of legitimacy in God’s program for Israel.

  12. Satan Is Seeking Israel’s Destruction • Revelation 12:13 And when the dragon (Satan) saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman (Israel) which brought forth the man child. • Satan hates Israel (betrothed of God/Father) and he hates the Church (bride of Christ)

  13. Jehovah’s Name is at Stake Ezekiel 36:17-24 • Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman. Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. • 21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. • Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

  14. The Lord Remembers Zion Psalms 102:8-16 • 8 Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me. • 9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, • 10 Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down. • 11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass. • 12 But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. • 13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come. • 14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the dust thereof. • 15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. • 16 When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

  15. No Room For Israel • Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Israel had no room for Jesus 2000 years ago, and today Israel is finding that the World has No Room for Israel

  16. God Plans to Make Israel the Head of the Nations • Isaiah 56:7-8 • 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. • 8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. • Genesis 22:17-18 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (see also Deut. 28:13 Psalms 110:1)

  17. God Will Judge The Nations on the Basis of How they Treat His Beloved, “Israel” Isaiah 46:13 I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory. Psalms 137:6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. Israel is God’s wondrous spectacle of Heaven, and the sight of his Beloved today being the “despised of the world” should remind Christians that our Lord was also “despised and rejected” of this world.

  18. Jesus Desires to Save Israel • Psalms 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. • Obadiah 1:15 For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, (unto Israel) it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. • Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. (see Matthew 2:6 — He will rule over Israel, forever)
