Choosing your pathway
Full course and short course PE students have the same options and are taught in the same lesson.
You will have one teacher who will be responsible for you throughout year 10. They will teach you for each activity and get to know you very well. They will make sure that you have the health and fitness knowledge needed to pass your GCSE exam in year 11.
You will have the opportunity to learn and be assessed in:
“I really want to choose competitive team games but I also want to do Badminton. Do I get the chance to try it?”
“I play for the school rugby team but want to choose competitive personal performance. Can I get a grade in rugby?”
“I play water polo for my local club. Can I get assessed in it for my GCSE?”
- Yes. Many sports that we can’t offer in school can be used to count towards your final coursework grades. From horse riding to canoeing. Please check with your PE teacher to see if we can assess you in it.
