HIGHLIGHTS AND OVERVIEW

  • This Amendment revamps the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program and reauthorizes it through 12/31/2010.
  • Expands coverage to service sector workers and public agencies.
  • Expands training options including deadlines to enroll.
  • Expands the Trade Readjustment Allowance (TRA) (cash assistance) as well as affords the trade participant additional options.
  • Doubles the training funds from $220M to $575M.
