  2. D.M.S.C.B means divide, multiply, subtract,check,andbring down.4 is the DIVISORand 1,684 is the DIVIDEND.

  3. Now we divide. How many times can 4 go into 1 ? 0 times, silly! So you put a zero over the 1.

  4. Now we divide. How many times does 4 go into sixteen which is 4 times! So place the 4 on top-.

  5. Now we multiply four times four . What do you have? 16! Place the 16 down below.

  6. Now subtract 16 from 16.And what do you have ? ZERO!

  7. after you check if the zero is bigger than four which it is not, you bring down the eight, and make sure you make an ARROW!

  8. See how many times 4 goes into 8. It goes in 4 times, so place a 4 on top. Then you multiply the two and four and get 8. Now you subtract eight from eight which is zeRO!

  9. Make sure that 0 is smaller than the 4. It is, so continue. Now you bring down the four, don’t forget to put the arrow.

  10. NOW THAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT DOWN THE FOUR YOU DIVIDE. HOW MANY TIMES DOES FOUR GO INTO FOUR? WHICH IS………..once.dont forget to put the one on top of the four.

  11. SO THEN YOU SUBTRACT FOUR FROM FOUR. So what do you get? Zero! Is it bigger than the 4. No, so you’re ok. and your quotient is 421. (THE QUOTIENT IS THE ANSWERTO A DIVISION PROBLEM.)
