  2. The Old Traders Post, overlooking the hippo- and crocodile dam with the plains and mountains as backdrop. The Old Traders Post has 51 suites. The second lodge is the Camp Elephant, which has 15 two bedroom(total 4-beds per chalet) self-catering chalets and 30 camping spots, each with private ablution.

  3. Farm The entire property is surrounded by a 156 km long electrified high game proof fence. The service buildings are huge indeed. Erindi has 54 vehicles of all types keep the enterprise moving and to be entirely self sufficient in all its maintenance needs. These include: 13 x game viewing vehicles, 9 x guest-and staff transit vehicles 10 x earth-moving vehicles 4 x vehicles used by fencing teams 2 x delivery vehicles 1 x game truck 3 x fire-fighting vehicles, 7 x vehicles used by ecology and research personnel 2 x workshop vehicles and 3 x general maintenance vehicles

  4. Infrastructure Near the main farmstead is a 1700 landing strip with concrete turnstile to accommodate private aircraft. The infrastructure is in an excellent state of repair as is the main farmstead and its buildings, including the game fences, garden of the main farmstead, boundary fences, the water installations at the boreholes and open dams, and about 1000 kilometres of interior roads. The electricity supply is per NAMPOWER. This supplies the lodges and service facilities. Emergency generators kick in when the grid power is interrupted.

  5. The outstanding topographical feature is the undulating thorn tree savanna and granite koppies making for a very beautiful setting together with the major riverine valleys. Together with the plains the high Erindi mountains, which are part of the property provide a spectacular backdrop for an unforgettable African experience. The trees are plentiful, many thousand, especially the gallery forests lining the river beds and on the riverine plains. There are over 40 water points with over 30 open dams. Due to the abundant water in the dams, water fowl is abundant and the hamerkop also nest and breed here.

  6. Game The property provides excellent grazing and shelter for a variety of game and bird life. The game numbers are very healthy indeed and include cheetah, leopard, lion, hyena, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, zebra, warthog, ostrich, giraffe, baboon, eland, wildebeest, waterbuck and more. Also reptiles such as the Nile crocodile and over 300 species of birds have been listed with plenty of raptors. The African Elephant and black rhino are state property and Erindi exercises custodianship over these animals and their offspring. The main reason for introducing the elephant is to combat bush encroachment. There are several game breeding camps where rare and endangered species are protected, amongst others the African Wild Dog.
