  1. English 9 6/3 Mr. Verutes Aim: Romeo & Juliet - Act II Read Aloud Do Now: Review Vocabulary Words #1-5 on the Romeo and Juliet Vocabulary Handout and then complete the following exercises. For each exercise, use the best vocabulary word to complete the sentence. The Montagues and Capulets engage in civil brawls because of the _______________ rage they feel for one another. Do Now: • Take out the vocabulary sentences (for words 11-20) that you completed for homework and pass your assignment to the front of each row. • Review Act II scene ii and prepare to discuss your answer to the following questions aloud: • What does Romeo swear his love to Juliet by? • How does Juliet respond when he does so (why doesn’t she want him to swear by your answer to number 1)? • What is Juliet afraid Romeo will think since he overheard her swear her love to him? • What does Juliet say their love is like (which causes Romeo to respond “O, wilt thou leave me so unsatisfied?”)? • For what purpose does Juliet intend to send a messenger to Romeo on the following day?
