  17. Title III-A/LEP Data Collection • LEP Status for Kindergarten • We’ve created a new soft rule for Kinder LEP students. Please use one of the following codes: • LEP1 • N • EW Provided by the Idaho state department of education

  18. Title III-A/LEP Data Collection • LEP1 is used for: • First Year. A student who qualifies as LEP AND is new to a U.S. School within the last 12 months. • Grades K-12 • ISAT Accountability • LEP1 is NOT used for: • A student past the 12 month mark in a US school, but new to an LEP program • Immigrant Status. Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Title III-A/LEP Data Collection • Students with English-Waived (EW) • Review IELA scores for EW students • If students meet the exiting criteria: • Enter an Exit date for the EW Status • Enter an Entry date for the X1 (1st year monitoring) • Once EW students meet the exiting criteria, they no longer need to be tested on the IELA. Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Title III-A/LEP Data Collection • Starting 2014-2015, Title III-A Program Monitoring will include a “new” indicator for data collection. • The new indicator states that districts must establish a written process for entering and verifying ISEE data for English Learners for monthly ISEE uploads. Provided by the Idaho state department of education

Rural and Low-Income Schools • Projects / Use of Funds – • Teacher recruitment and retention, including the use of signing bonuses and other financial incentives; professional development, including programs that train teachers to use technology to improve teaching. • Teacher professional development, including programs that train teachers to work with the disadvantaged and students with special needs; • Parental involvement activities • Activities authorized under ESEA, Title I, Part A • Activities authorized under ESEA, Title III • Activities authorized under ESEA, Title IV, Part B Provided by the Idaho state department of education
