  2. Agenda • Comes home each night • Needs to be signed • Use as a communication tool • Look for assignments and notes

  3. Homework • Practice skills learned • Monday-Thursday (with exceptions) • Assignments are math and reading, but include fluency (orange folder) and spelling • 30 minutes maximum

  4. Common Core • Reading series • Integrated in math • A new way of thinking with a change in the curriculum from the district.

  5. Reading • The goal is to understand! • It is a part of EVERYTHING! • You are a role model. • It must be a part of every day.

  6. STAR Block Students to Targeted Acceleration in Reading Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday 8:30-9:00

  7. Spelling • Helps with reading • Helps with writing • Based on a specific sound/skill • Can be fun!

  8. Math • Whole Numbers (addition and subtraction with regrouping, place value) • Geometry (2-D, 3-D shapes) • Money Smackdown! • Measurement (time and length)

  9. AR & AM • Goals set for each nine weeks (labels in the agenda) • Specific to each student • Based on data

  10. Schedule Lunch 12:16-12:51 Specials 11:35-12:20 (M, Tu, Th, F) 11:05-11:40 (W) Day 2, 4, 6, 8 – PE Day 1 – Science Day 3 – Art Day 6 – Media Day 8 - Technology

  11. Wednesday is Packet Day • Graded work • Announcements • Sign, date, and return Check Skyward, too!

  12. Miscellaneous • Field trips • Volunteers • Email • Newsletter • Attendance/Early Checkout/Tardy

  13. At Home • Encourage responsibility • See agenda, take home folder, and backpack • Let your child have fun
