This project aims to enhance tricycle biomechanics for better maneuvering over inclined terrain by modifying the current system with adjusted gear ratios, gear shifting without derailleurs, and reverse steering. The final prototype will be presented in workshops for user feedback and further improvements.

Improving Tricycle Ergonomics: Final Prototype Tricycle Biomechanics Team May 17, 2007 Xin He, Katherine Wong, Mario Bollini, Elizabeth Au, Lindsay Todman
The Design Process Problem: Current tricycles difficult to maneuver, especially over inclined terrain Functional Requirements: Improve tricycle simultaneous power and steering Concept: Modify Current System
The Design 1. Adjusted gear ratios 2. Shifting without derailleurs 3. Reverse with steering
Future Plans • Prototype to be presented to workshops and tricycle users • Work with locals to improve the system to best suit their needs
