  2. Thanks to Liane • Without the vision of LianeBlanck, our organization would not exist. Without her constant work and effort throughout fifteen years of service to our organization, our students would not have had the opportunity to learn and grow. • We’d all like to thank her for her dedication through the years. Many former HY students are here tonight to share their thanks, and many alumni who could not be here tonight wished to express their hope that our program will continue and wish Liane well on the next step of her life’s journey.

I can honestly say that my experiences going into classrooms with Healthy YOUth (2000-2004) were rewarding to me even as a teenager and definitely helped confirm that I wanted to be a teacher. • I also loved all the opportunities that Healthy YOUth provided for me to participate in countless crazy teambuilding activities...(climbing on people to make human machines, chanting cheers at the Illinois Teen Institute, doing low ropes courses in the woods) many of which I have tried to use in my own classroom. I even have the red binder that was made for us one year on the shelf in my classroom as a reference tool! • Liane and Mrs. Will, I will always appreciate you for giving me a very unique opportunity to lead in Healthy YOUth as a high school student. I know that this helped shape me and develop me more than I probably realize. And I will always appreciate the endless energy you brought to helping us plan events. I specifically remember gluing countless graves on butcher paper for "Dead Day" and planning a pirate-themed event for 8th graders! It was a joy to work with you and Healthy YOUth will be something I always remember.
